What does Crossing Borders do ?

The cooperation between Crossing Borders and the "VTTC Enugu (Vocational Technical Training Center)" has made it possible to improve and renovate several educational facilities across Nigeria and thus improve the education opportunities for about 4.500 pupils.

The VTTC Enugu was established in 2000 to meet Nigeria’s growing demand for skilled craftspeople. During a 2.5 year apprenticeship, young people are trained as electricians, metal workers and mechanics. They receive a sound education that combines theoretical teaching with practical lessons in partner companies. The cooperation between Crossing Borders, FIDESCO and the VTTC Enugu has supported the set up and renovation of several educational facilities. The learning environment for VTTC apprentices is continuously improving to ensure that they receive the best practical training.

How to support this project?

The project is looking for expert craftspeople willing to train instructors at the VTTC Enugu. In addition, machinery and workshop equipment is needed. Volunteers have the opportunity to work for two years in Nigeria, additional help is needed to manage fundraising in Vorarlberg.
