The psycho-social program supports children with special needs and learning disabilities from diff erent cultural and religious backgrounds.
Especially children from the Roma, Ashkali or Egyptian ethnics groups in Kosovo are often forced to live on the street and beg for their living. The situation is even worse for those with learning disabilities or cognitive impairments. Within this project, the children receive psycho-social care and support. Special activities allow them to gain new experiences outside of their environment of poverty. The resultsof these eff orts are visible – health, hygiene and school performance improve and the children are more self-confi dent. Crossing Borders has supported the psycho-social program directly and has also contributed to the erection of a building for the NGO "Duart Plot Meshire".
How to support this project?
The project is looking for all kinds of school material and children’s clothing. Volunteers experienced in working with children are welcome as well.
