The »Costalanka Children Support Organization« runs two children’s homes in Sri Lanka. The financial support by Crossing Borders has helped to renovate and expand one of the two facilities.
The children’s homes provide housing, food, education and support for altogether about 50 children aged between three and 18 years.Orphans, abandoned children, and children from a background of poverty receive support that enables them to live self-determined lives and to escape poverty. Various activities, such as sports, additional teaching or the learning of new skills like cooking, sewing or similar training help to support this aim. Over the course of the years, it has been possible to find jobs for many of the participants.
How to support this project?
The association is looking for new ideas regarding the continuation of the sponsorship program, as the competition for sponsors is increasing The sponsorship should allow donors to support the institutions and provide children with a start capital for their adult live.
