The association "Kinderhilfe Siebenbürgen e.V." supports families and children in need, organizing childcare, learning support, foster care for neglected children, aid transports, family help and holiday trips.

The offers are targeted at families living far below the poverty line, mainly Romani people. Two learning centers provide daycare, proper meals, guided activities, learning support and material assistance. Neglected children receive medical treatment, proper nutrition and social care in a foster home supported by the association. Families in need are directly supported with food, medicine, firewood, emergency housing and counselling. Additional supplies are brought to Romania by regular aid transports from Germany. Supporters have the opportunity to support a family via a sponsorship program. The association also organizes recreational trips and camps for children. The support by Crossing Borders has made it possible to expand the support activities for children beyond the focus on education.

How to support this project?

The project is looking for medical professionals willing to support the work in Sibiu. A medical laboratory would make it possible to bypass the deficient health care system in Romania.
