The "Internationale Kinder- und Jugendhilfe Wasserburg" (IKJH) cooperates with the Bolivian Wiphala foundation in order to support working children, youths and young adults. The project operates a drop-in center, organizes an education program and provides opportunities for sheltered housing.
The drop-in center is regularly visited by about 70 working children and young adults. The center provides food, medical care, learning support and facilitates communication with parents and educational institutions. Workshops, group meetings and other events are organized as well. Through the education program, young people receive scholarships and direct support to help them complete their education. Practical training courses (baking, tailoring, metal construction) are held in separate workshops. Sheltered housing is provided for children and young adults in need. The aim is to create a stable and safe environment and to facilitate the return to the families. Additionally, two working projects aim to create a safe working environment with fair payment for the participants.
